History of
the Iota Iota Iota Chapter
In the late 1980’s, the idea of a graduate chapter of Omega
Psi Phi in Utah was given thought by several Brothers, who had been
transplanted to the state. The
Brothers believed that a graduate chapter would be a better way to deeply seed
and proliferate Omega roots in the state of Utah. The only chapter that existed in the state at the time was
Omicron Mu, an undergraduate chapter at Weber State University, Ogden, Utah founded in 1983. By 1985, the last member of Omicron Mu
graduated and the chapter became inactive.
By the spring of 1990, there were several graduate Brothers in Utah that
decided a graduate chapter would have more longevity and provide a stable
environment for the undergraduates in the state.
By the spring of 1990 a search for the Brothers in Utah
found:

the flame of Omega in their hearts

the torch in the state of Utah to reclaim Brothers in the Salt Lake City

the Brothers with the Chapter’s new name: Iota Iota Iota. On December 8, 1990, IHQ granted a
